Like many things in life, my makeup habits and preferences have changed with age. From the days when my caboodle staple was roll-on glitter, to my middle-school-aged self wearing too much eyeliner. There was the phase of experimenting with eyeshadow, the times of excessive blush and the high school days when bronzer was everything.
Over the years I’ve realized what products and looks work for me and which ones definitely do not. After more than a decade of trials and tribulations, my everyday makeup routine can be boiled down to three products and two brushes.
- liquid foundation to even out my skin tone, ease redness and disguise blemishes
- pressed powder to give my round, structure-lacking cheeks some kind of definition via contouring
These are the products I am currently using and loving.
- The Sigma flat kabuki brush [F80] used for liquid foundation
- The MAC large angled contour brush for pressed powder
And speaking of brushes, a friendly reminder to keep buildup and bacteria at bay with regular washing. [for tips on how to clean your makeup brushes click here]
While I like to keep my daily makeup routine easy, breezy, I am always looking for great new products to try. I would love to hear some of your recommendations/favorites in the comments below!
